he Residence is a new concept in accommodation for Bath. It brings together the exclusivity of a private members club and the service of a modern hotel within a large Georgian house near the city centre.
Our Spa is now Open! Click here for more information |
The house was built as Ormond Lodge in 1796 as part of a local estate. It remained a private home until 1955 and is reputed to be one of the homes of Haile Selassie during his exile in Britain during the Thirties.
It has recently been converted into a luxury Bed and Breakfast consisting of five bedrooms and one suite. Probably the best rooms in Bath.
Our aim is simple: to be the best home from home you ever had. Our style is relaxed but eager to please. We aren't like the big formal hotel with lists of do's and don'ts, because we think our guests are grown ups who have probably decided how to live their lives by now.
They will have their food when they want and if a bottle of chilled Dom Perignon is required at 3a.m., then that is what they will get.
If you want a week of peace and tranquility to concentrate on important things, then say the word and we'll try just as hard to deliver that as we will the Dom at three.
And of course if business is your business, we have a range of offerings for you, hit the link to find out what.
All our rooms are non smoking and all have unique mini-bars, large screen televisions, some with DVD's, and a cutting edge sound system. There is also wireless capability throughout the building.
The breakfast offering is sourced locally and is organic. All breakfasts are cooked to order and although designated times are published the staff will be happy to provide breakfast at any time of day. Room service is also be available at any hour of the day or night and our restaurant opens on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night and for brunch on Saturday and Sunday.
There is a modern conservatory bar with a heated terrace and retractable canopy.
There is also a steam room and sauna available for guests and treatments are available in the rooms although they have to be booked in advance.
The garden provides a beautiful setting for outdoor dining as well as boule and croquet in spring and summer.
The city centre is a short but beautiful walk through the Botanical Gardens and past the Royal Crescent. Alternatively a cab can be arranged to take guests into town with an optional hamper is available on request.
The Residence provides the highest level of service combined with the relaxed atmosphere of a rather special club for those visiting Bath for either work or pleasure.
But don't just take our word for it - find out what the Guardian said about us.
