All our bedrooms have been individually designed, but, we hope, not overly so. We don't have many, (we can sleep 16, max) so we have tried to ensure they all deliver as much as they can. Every one has central heating and opening windows, no air-con anywhere because the Bath stone maintains an equable temperature year round. All bathrooms have robes. All bedrooms and public rooms have a choice of radio stations and cd music streams from our sound server as well as their own I-pod compatible digital radios. Wide screen TV's deliver a full range of Free TV channels in all bedrooms and occasionally for major sporting events in the bar – but only when the majority of guests want it.
The bedrooms are also equipped with the most imaginative goody box and thoughtfully stocked room bars. Each has wired or wireless internet access at no extra charge and all national landline calls are also included in your rate.
The Attic
Up on the roof, well almost. This is one of our smaller double rooms with a 5' leather headed French bed, a view of our gardens and with a mirrored private bathroom with bath. The bedroom has taupe walls, golden brown flooring and, a campaign chest of comestibles and a massive plasma screen TV. There is also a small dining table with chairs for when you want to concentrate on the deal or script in hand.
The Loft
Facing towards Royal Victoria Park, the Loft has lovely mixed urban and rural views of Bath. The bedroom with its 5’ French leather headed French bed, also features a huge plasma TV, a mini bar, a dining table and of course the signature campaign chest of goodies. It has an adjoining bathroom with an Art Deco touch featuring an all-over power shower and a bath. Loft living in Georgian Bath at its finest.
The Penthouse
The main room has more stunning views over Royal Victoria Park with views of our garden from the smaller room. The Penthouse is flexible: it has plenty of room for a couple, with enough space for a little one or a friend in the smaller room, which also doubles as an office or lounge. This suite has an adjoining bathroom with power shower. The main room is furnished with a 6' French wooden bed, mini-bar, and campaign chest of comestibles, huge plasma TV, dining table and chairs for private dining.
The Emperor
If the great man did indeed live here, then this is where Emperor Haile Selassie would have slept. Two big rooms, have an arch link, the bedroom featuring a huge Victorian walnut bed that you need steps to get into and an equally large plasma screen to watch once you get cosy. The living area has two giant leather sofas and a Chinese day bed which doubles as a dining or coffee table; a huge gilded mirror and a fabulous log-burning fireplace, designed by local mason, Ben Gale. Reclaimed French farmhouse oak floors complete the opulent picture. The comestible-laden campaign chest lies temptingly close, together with the fully laden fridge, for when you can't be bothered or would rather not pick up the 'phone. Just off the rooms is a beautiful bathroom with all the modern stuff as well as a gorgeous verdigris French washbasin. Bliss.
The King
This is our western-most room and is probably our most romantic. (No, not because of four-poster beds and Laura Ashley décor, we don't do that). Simply because it is the ideal bolt-hole, the perfect place for holing up, hoisting the drawbridge and sending down for room service - for the whole week. A white marble fireplace gives you the option of warm and cosy flames, whilst the high ceiling and opening windows allow you to opt for cool and chilled. The over-large bath and shower room has enough Grohe water-dispensing equipment to fulfil every aquatic need, with underfloor heating for the travertine flooring to ensure the toes are kept au point. The 6' wooden bed is as welcoming as a bed can be, whether romance or relaxation is your desire du jour. The campaign chest of comestibles and conundrums is partnered by the heavily disguised drinks fridge, to provide everything you need in case the world ends or in the unlikely event that room service isn't nippy enough. If the creative muse hasn't arrived, the huge TV/DVD might provide the neutral time to hurry it along.
The Queen
This is our interesting one. Because we were a private home, this suite is made up of three rooms, each separate and connected by a small corridor. The main room has sweeping views to the south of the city and over Royal Victoria Park. The Queen itself was the boudoir of the lady of the house, and is now dominated by a 6' wooden bed, perfect for snuggling up in or watching the large TV/DVD. What used to be the dressing room forms room two, which we have converted to a small lounge with an extra luxurious pullout sofa bed and the bathroom forms room three, luxuriously appointed with a huge bath and shower unit.
The West Wing
This is the combined rooms, King and Queen, which together provide a private suite for up to five people, each cosseted in absolute luxury in three rooms, two, two and one.
